Welded jewellery are bracelets designed to stay on your wrist all the time. Instead of closing with a clasp, a tiny jump ring connects the ends of the chain together, which is then welded, securing the custom fit chain around your wrist.
To make the weld, I use a Micro Pulse Welder. This is a piece of equipment I use in my jewellery studio regularly which uses a focused pulse of electrical energy to join two pieces of metal together. The application process is completely safe, I use a patch of thick canvas between your skin and the weld site as an extra safety precaution, but even if the machine came into contact with your skin it wouldn't hurt. When your bracelet is being welded, you will hear a click, a hiss and then there will be a small flash, after which the metal will be fused! You will be required to wear special glasses to protect your eyes from the bright flash of the welder.

A welded bracelet can last months, even years. They are often marketed as ‘permanent’ however as with all jewellery, welded jewellery is not indestructible. It’s ultimately dependent on your chosen chain, your lifestyle and other factors. If it's pulled hard enough, the chain or jump ring may break, so please treat your bracelet with care (and be especially mindful around little ones!) With normal wear, your bracelet will stay on for a long long time. DAISYV offers one free weld if your bracelet breaks at the weld site/you remove it and you bring the chain back in. All other breaks are the responsibility of the wearer, lost chains will need to be repurchased.

DAISYV offers welded bracelets, with six beautiful chains and charms to choose from. All of the chains are made in the UK from 100% recycled sterling silver (not in the DAISYV studio, but from a small, family run jewellers) and each charm has been handcrafted by Daisy in her studio using 100% recycled sterling silver and ethically sourced stones. DAISYV does not offer welded anklets as due to the welding machine, there is not currently a way to make this option accessible for everyone. Anklets also tend not to last as long and can be uncomfortable to wear under socks and boots!
Unfortunately Daisy is not currently offering solid gold bracelets.

Unfortunately, if you have a pacemaker you should not get a welded bracelet.
Although allergies to solid sterling silver are rare, we also advise those with metal allergies not to get welded jewellery.

You will be required to pay a £20 deposit at time of booking which will be deducted from your final amount on the day you get welded. This is non-refundable if you do not show up for your appointment or fail to cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time slot.

To keep your welded bracelet looking its best, Daisy will provide you with care instructions and a polishing cloth at your appointment. Gently use this on a regular basis to keep it’s shine. Avoid exposing your bracelet to harsh chemicals like chlorine, bleach or cleaning agents and be careful not to tug at, or twist the bracelet excessively as this could cause it to break (be especially mindful around little ones!)
Sterling silver does naturally tarnish over time, although natural oils from your skin help to keep it sparkly for longer. Daisy offers a cleaning service should your welded bracelet need some TLC! Included in the price of your appointment is one free re-weld which is valid for one year from the day of your appointment.

Welded jewellery is not designed to be regularly removed, however it can easily be removed by cutting the jump ring that attaches the chain together with a pair of scissors/snips. If you’d like it re-attached you will need to make an appointment for it to be re-welded. DAISYV offers one free weld within one year of getting your welded bracelet.
-
Solid sterling silver does not impact an MRI scan as it is not magnetic, however you may still be asked to remove your jewellery before an MRI. If this is the case, simply cut the chain at the jump ring and it can be brought back to the studio to be re-welded for free. I’m also happy to remove it for you at the studio beforehand if you’d prefer.
-
As sterling silver is not magnetic, it should not affect any airport security checks as you travel.

Welded jewellery is sturdy but not indestructible. As with regular jewellery chains, if it's pulled hard enough, the chain or jump ring may break. As such, please treat your bracelet with care and keep this in mind before making your appointment. DAISYV offers one free weld within the first year of getting welded if your bracelet breaks at the weld site and you bring the chain back in. All other breaks are the responsibility of the wearer. If you’ve lost the chain, you will need to purchase a new one.
-
If you have lost your bracelet a new chain will need to be purchased.
