PLANET + PEOPLE

“Every decision that I make with DAISYV Jewellery comes down to it’s environmental and social impact upon our planet, from sourcing materials and making the jewellery, to packaging and donating to important causes. This has always been the driving force behind my brand and it always will be. Whilst it isn’t always the easiest or most cost effective option, the urgency to do better for our planet and it's people makes it absolutely necessary to make these changes and I am always looking for ways to do and be better.” - Daisy

DAISYV is a slow fashion brand, designed to have meaning and be long lasting. Every jewellery piece is handcrafted by Daisy, in her studio in England, using 100% recycled sterling silver. We reduce waste by melting down every silver offcut for use in new designs and harmful chemicals are never used during production of the jewellery, instead finding eco-friendly alternatives.

The stones that we use are all sourced from a UK supplier who has a close relationship with each of the mines that they work with, ensuring they adhere to strict environmental policies as well as policies that keep their workers safe and fairly paid.

To further reduce our environmental impact, we keep the DAISYV brand small. Only one location in Daisy’s home town, carrying a carefully curated selection of jewellery stock and making to order online. All of the lifestyle products that are carried in the shop are handmade by other small, UK businesses who share the same values as our own when it comes to production and sustainability. Every item in the shop is plastic free.

The DAISYV packaging is always completely plastic free and bio-degradeable, from the mailing boxes and tape, to the tissue paper and ribbon. The boxes are made from a mix of FSC-certified forests + recycled materials and our little bags are made from 100% cotton and linen, both designed to store your jewellery, to re-use again and again. We source only from small, family run businesses, located in the UK or Europe, whose ethics align with our own and who are transparent in the way that they work.

There is also a minimal packaging option for jewellery, which uses only the cotton bags without the box.

As an Earth-conscious business, DAISYV strives to take real action against climate change through our monthly donations to two sustainable, non-profit charities: Cool Earth and Survival International.

Cool Earth
Right now, the world is in a climate crisis. The most effective way to fight back is to protect the best carbon-storing technology that already exists: rainforest. And the best way to do that? Back, support, and listen to the people living there. Indigenous peoples and local communities have lived in balance with rainforest for thousands of years and are the real rainforest experts. They are people who face extreme injustice whilst living on the front line of the climate crisis.

Cool Earth exists to give cash direct to rainforest communities, to fund projects that create choice, tackle the root causes of deforestation and protect vital carbon sinks. When cash is paired with traditional knowledge, it funds radical solutions - whether that's forest monitoring, beehives, solar farms or wildfire prevention, it all protects rainforest.

Survival International
Survival International is a non profit organisation that champions tribal and indigenous peoples around the world, amplifying their voice to make sure that it’s heard. From the Amazon to the Kalahari, from the jungles of India to the Congo rainforest, Survival work in partnership with tribal and indigenous peoples to protect their lives and land. Their vision is a world where tribal and indigenous peoples are respected as contemporary societies and their human rights protected. Tribal and indigenous peoples are the best guardians of the natural world and are an essential part of human diversity that is a key to protecting biodiversity.
